Ok let me explain: this is tradition of all schools on post sovet space. The best student of the last grade carries the girl of the 1st grade while she rings the bell. That symbolise first school ring bell for those who just came into school and the last one for those who going to finish the school this year. We don't have different buildings for elementary and high school, it's just one for everyone, so when you comming into 1st grade you are about 6 or 7 years old and when you finish the school you are 17 or 18
